Welcome Message

 Taskopru - Adana
Adana Taskopru - Old Roman Bridge

The U.S. Consulate in Adana represents the American people in Turkey’s vibrant and historic southeastern region.  Our consular district encompasses 22 provinces, including Turkey’s borders with Syria, Iraq and Iran.  In addition to Adana, major cities in this region include Mersin, Gaziantep, Şanlıurfa, Diyarbakir and Van.

The consulate contributes to the goals of Mission Turkey in several ways: most importantly, we provide protection and services to American citizens in our district, including the processing of passports, birth certificates and other official documents.  In addition, the Adana Consulate promotes U.S.-Turkish relations through our work in areas of mutual interest, including education and culture.  The consulate seeks to enhance trade and economic ties, working jointly with the Foreign Commercial Service and the U.S. Department of Agriculture, both of which have representatives in Ankara.

This is an exciting period in Turkey’s history, as the government seeks entry in the European Union and expands its leadership role in the Eastern Mediterranean region.  Consistent with the shared values of our two countries,

• The United States supports Turkish democracy and territorial integrity.
• The United States supports a strong security partnership with Turkey based on our shared interests and values.
• The United States supports Turkey's economic success.

In addition, the U.S. speaks out in Turkey for enhanced democracy and for the protection of human rights.  To further all these objectives, and consistent with diplomatic practice worldwide, consulate officers follow political and economic developments in the region, meeting regularly with representatives from a wide variety of government and non-governmental organizations.

On this web-site and those of the Ankara Embassy and Istanbul Consulate General, you will find the latest news about U.S.-Turkish relations, American foreign policy, information about studying in the U.S., and about visa services.

We at the United States Consulate in Adana look forward to a warm and productive relationship with the Turkish citizens and all residents of our district.

Sincerely,

Eric Green
US Consul, Adana
