Adana NGO Roundtable: Violence against Women

Roundtable participants listen attentively to salient points on the subject of violence against women.

The June 11 NGO roundtable organized by Violet Bağcuvan and Susan Merter in cooperation with the U.S. Consulate in Adana is a follow-up meeting among NGOs, local public officials, academicians, and media members to create an action plan related to violence against women.  In April, Dr, Evan Stark from New Jersey came to Adana and participated in a roundtable organized by the Developing Societal Vision and Intercultural Dialogue Association (DSVID.)  During the first roundtable, many issues were brought up, including the suggestion by Dr. Stark to create an action plan.  This second roundtable, “Key to the Process for a Violence Free Society,” was a step towards achieving this goal of an action plan.
